RehabCare, the health and social care division of Rehab, has announced that its two resource centres in Athlone have been awarded a top European quality honour in recognition of the standard of the services provided.

Thousands of new training places for long-term unemployed

Mayo Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony, has welcomed the announcement that free educating and training places are being provided for up 6,500 people who are long-term unemployed. The Momentum programme is a Government initiative, which has been launched by the Minister for Education, Ruairí Quinn, and the Minister of State for Training and Skills, Ciarán Cannon.

A Connemara flasher who indecently exposed himself to children attending an Irish college, offering them money to perform sexual acts on him, and who assaulted a woman while being treated in hospital has been given an 11 month prison suspended sentence and ordered to abide by strict conditions.
